Cutler Announces GOP Supporters (Portland Press Herald)

The Portland Press Herald reports that Eliot Cutler has released a list of prominent Republican endorsements — ranging from business owners to office holders – who support his bid for the Blaine House. The announcement comes on the heels of his announcement last week that two well-known Democrats, Senator Dennis Damon and Representative Leila Percy, had endorsed his campaign for Maine governor.  Here is an excerpt:

“My campaign has the biggest tent in the race for governor this year, and I welcome the support of these prominent Republicans from around Maine,” Cutler said in a news release. Cutler said he has the support of these Republicans:

Capt. Bob Peacock, a harbor pilot and president of the Eastport City Council.

Tim Hussey, CEO of Hussey Seating Co. in North Berwick.

Andrew Hamilton, a partner in the Eaton Peabody law firm.

Tom Lizotte, chairman of the Piscataquis County Board of Commissioners.

Gordon Smith, executive vice president of the Maine Medical Association and a former member of the Republican National Committee.

Albert Glickman, a lawyer and real estate developer and former chairman of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston.

Jonathan LaBonte, Androscoggin County commissioner and executive director of the Androscoggin Land Trust.

Al and Mark Bancroft, founders and owners of South Paris-based Bancroft Contracting Corp.

Karen Brown-Mohr of Portland, a former four-term Republican legislator from Bethel.

Horace “Hoddy” Hildreth Jr., chairman of Diversified Communications, former Republican state senator and candidate for Congress, and son of the late Gov. Horace Hildreth Sr.
